These are nautical, beach and/or ocean themed rubber ducks. You’ll notice these nautical-themed rubber ducks along with my nautical home decor. I will also share their names and a short story about them.

Here we go go let’s get nautical and go to beach and see these fowl feathered well rubber duckies in SteveZ DuckZ collection.

This one is called Navy Duck. I called him that because he is wearing a sailor type outfit. He is part of the Royal Duck Navy (RDN) and he is a sailor.

The word “nautical” in case you are unsure is an adjective that describes anything related to ships, sailing, or navigation. This encompasses a broad range of things, from the design and construction of vessels themselves to the skills and practices of those who sail them.

This is Huey he is a lighthouse keeper. He was given to Steve by Bill Chpe C Warr. At least that’s what is on the bottom of this rubber duck. ​

This is Waddles. He is a beach bum rubber duck. He loves to be on the sandy beach along the ocean and all of the coasts all over the world. ​

Even traditions and customs followed by sailors fall under the umbrella of “nautical.” Synonyms for nautical include marine, maritime, naval, and seafaring just to name a few.

Admiral Duckmore navigates this Caracca Ship which is a type of ship used during the Age of Exploration, known for its large size and multiple masts. He took was one of Scout’s ducklings learning navigation many years ago. Proof navigation is important to ducks he worked his way all the way to Admiral.

Quacker is the duck on the Crow’s Nest aboard this Caracca ship. He is the lookout being up at the top. Here are a few of his jobs:

  1. Navigational Aid: Sailors in the crow’s nest could spot landmarks, other ships, or dangers like icebergs and reefs from a great distance. He was a duckling in Scout’s Duck Troop too.
  2. Whale Spotting: On whaling ships, the lookout was crucial for spotting the spouts of whales.
  3. Weather Observation: It provided a vantage point to observe weather conditions and any changes that might impact the voyage.
  4. Enemy Surveillance: During times of war or piracy, it served as a lookout for enemy ships.
